Possible to align monitor count with physical monitor count?

Hi,

I've recently configured my VirtualBox for multiple monitors based on the configuration I currently have at work. However, I often am working away from my desk, and I find it rather unnecessary to have multiple VBox windows open up on startup when I am currently only using a single monitor.

Is it possible to configure VBox such that it generates a maximum of X windows, based on the current physical configuration, instead of a constant X number of windows regardless of how many physical monitors are connected?

Not to my knowledge, though I guess you could force it with a script.

In general the hardware simulated by a VM is not strongly related to the hardware available on the host.
