Re: Discuss the 5.0 release
The sha and md5 checksum files listed on the download page still reflect 4.3.28 - not 5.0.

Re: Discuss the 5.0 release
Audio for Linux guests is still at the wrong sample rate on OSX hosts.* Otherwise things seem to be working.
edit: only applies to guests created before the release of VB 5.0.

Re: Discuss the 5.0 release
RC3 was declared
Few days and minor fixes later it's RTM?a bleeding-edge release for early evaluation and testing, NOT […] production machines

actually I forgot they changed ac97 for new guests. I knew how to fix old guests and btw? I thought users were told NOT to edit .vbox files?birdie wrote:Refer to this post to fix your audio.loukingjr wrote:Audio for Linux guests is still at the wrong sample rate on OSX hosts. Re: Discuss the 5.0 release
A lot of users don't understand what they are doing so editing the configuration file can render their guest defunct. In this case it's pretty safe.loukingjr wrote:actually I forgot they changed ac97 for new guests. I knew how to fix old guests and btw? I thought users were told NOT to edit .vbox files?

Yes, there are different kinds of users.
I myself would be what was considered a lazy user and the idea of editing 36 .vbox files is not something I will end up doing.

They were and they are. We do not appreciate such suggestions.loukingjr wrote:I thought users were told NOT to edit .vbox files?
It is ironic that for some people it's less work to hand-edit a XML file than search for 'AD1980' in the manual

One has to know what he's looking for, right?michaln wrote:It is ironic that for some people it's less work to hand-edit a XML file than search for 'AD1980' in the manual
At the same time it took me a few seconds to spot something new in a newly created VM
Re: Discuss the 5.0 release
I just installed the 5.0 release of VirtualBox.... none of my Guest OSs will start in Normal Mode, they all will start in Headless mode (not useful to me)
They include Ubuntu 64bit, Windows 8.1 64bit, BSD 64, Windows 7 Pro 64bit
The Log File does not get updated.
The error generated is
