The sha and md5 checksum files listed on the download page still reflect 4.3.28 - not 5.0.

Audio for Linux guests is still at the wrong sample rate on OSX hosts.* Otherwise things seem to be working.

edit: only applies to guests created before the release of VB 5.0.

RC3 was declared
a bleeding-edge release for early evaluation and testing, NOT […] production machines
Few days and minor fixes later it's RTM?

actually I forgot they changed ac97 for new guests. I knew how to fix old guests and btw? I thought users were told NOT to edit .vbox files?

A lot of users don't understand what they are doing so editing the configuration file can render their guest defunct. In this case it's pretty safe.

Yes, there are different kinds of users. 8)

I myself would be what was considered a lazy user and the idea of editing 36 .vbox files is not something I will end up doing. :D

They were and they are. We do not appreciate such suggestions.

It is ironic that for some people it's less work to hand-edit a XML file than search for 'AD1980' in the manual :D

One has to know what he's looking for, right? ;-)

At the same time it took me a few seconds to spot something new in a newly created VM ;-)
