Does networking work with 1.4

I was using 1.38 and networking and file sharing worked fine with kubuntu. Since I have done the upgrade to 1.4 these no longer work. I have read post on this forum and others reporting the same problem. I have seen posts here that seem to indicate that bridging works and then point to one link or another. I have tried these and none has worked. I had a bridge setup and working with 1.38 and 1.4 will not work. Other forums I have visited report that the problem is that feisty and virtualbox networking is broken. A bridge cannot be set up with this scenerio.

Would someone verify for me if virtualbox and feisty have problems?

I have run virtualbox on both Feisty and Gutsy without these problems.

Which version of virtualbox? I had run 1.38 without problem as well.

I apologize as I have made a mis statement. I meant internal networking, between a host and guest on the same machine. Not a network between machines.
