Scale view of guest system

Hi all,

i'm using VirtualBox on Win7, running Ubuntu als guest system.
My problem:
i have to run a program (not scaleable) in Ubuntu in FullHD portrait mode, but have to view the system on a landscape beamer.
Do i can run the guest system at 1200x1920px portrait mode but view it on the host system at 1920x1200 landscape mode? I know, presentation quality will be low, but it's most importaint for me to see the whole guest screen without scrolling necessary.

Thanks a lot for your help

You are asking if Virtualbox offers some kind of scale of the guest display? yes, use scale mode in the view menu.

Hello noteirak,
yes, this was the first thing I've tried, but no success...
The scale function just scale the size of the oracle window, but not the content. So if i can see an element in fullscreen mode on the Ubuntu Desktop which is 20px height, and then i use the scale function and reduce the oracle window size to half of the host screen height, the element on the Ubuntu Desktop is still 20px high, i just can see a quarter of the whole screen.
Attached three pictures, 1st. screenshot at fullscreen mode, 2nd. screenshot in scale mode and 3rd. picture i've tried to show with Photoshop what i expect to see.

Oh it is a trivial topic, but will requires guest additions to work and I just wanted to double check this :
VirtualBox 4.1.10 r76836 win.amd64 (Mar 14 2012 18:18:53) release log
00:00:08.514 Guest Additions information report: Version 4.2.6 r82870 '4.2.6'
1. you're using a mismatch version between your guest additions and your Virtualbox installation.
2. Your Virtualbox installation is still 4.1.x, which is quite old now and I am not sure it actually supports what you want. Have you tried with the latest Virtualbox version?

You will still have to fix the guest additions missmatch.
