Program fails to launch

Post by hfrankjr »

I have one program that fails to launch. All the others do. I'm using Feisty as host and WinXP as guest on VB 1.4. The program is from Declan and they can't figure out why it won't launch. It did launch when I first downloaded and installed it, but now I just get the hour glass for an instant and then it disappears and I'm left twiddling my thumbs. I've installed other programs from them and they won't launch either. Has anybody experienced this with any program? Where to start?

Yes I have this problem as well.

Dragon Naturally speaking was working in 1.3.8

No joy in 1.4.0.

Others have reported problems with I think omnipage ? I forget.

Try launching the program from the *gasp* windows command line (terminal)

start -> run ... -> enter cmd

See if you get any error messages (I don't)

You could also try downgrading to 1.3.8.
If is a virtual machine, is it still broken ?

Program won't launch

I tried that and nothing happens except for the command line popping up again. Since I hadn't tried this particular program in 1.3.8 I don't know if that would do any good or not. In my case it's every program from this particular source (all of them foreign language oriented). Thanks for the response.

Can you give a link to this program or a demo version, that shows the same problem?

I've just fixed a problem that sounds very similar to what's reported here (http://forums.virtualbox.org/viewtopic.php?t=495). If you're using SVN, you should sync and rebuild.
