PXE Boot

It is possible for VirtualBox to attempt a pxe boot and if during the pxe boot it fails, the boot continues via the installed OS?

Boot Sequence:
Power On --> PXE Boot Attempt -> Fails PXE boot attemp --> boots installed OS in VDI

Right now once the PXE Boot attempt fails a "fatal: int18: boot failure" error is displayed.

Have you read the User Manual yet to see how to use PXE in VB?

I have read the user manual and there doesn't appear to be anything specific regarding the configuration of PXE within VirtualBox with the exception of using PXE and NAT.

It notes that you need the ExtPack to get PXE boot options. Then you just set the boot order in the VM settings and that should be it. Then it's all a matter of configuring your PXE server to listen to boot requests.

Yes I already have that installed and it still fails.

Setup:

Host OS: Windows 7
Guest OS: Windows 7
Boot Order: Network, CD/DVD-ROM, Floppy, Hard Disk

If the PXE boot fails Virtual Box does not try and boot a CD/DVD, Floppy, Hard Drive... it just stops and displays the error message:

FATAL: INT18: BOOT FAILURE

Ok, but did you see any requests coming to your DHCP server and PXE server? Is there any other boot media attached? When I try it, and there is no DHCP server or PXE server, it just continues booting from the other entries that are enabled.
