Windows XP von USB installieren

Hallo zusammen,

ich habe ein kleines Problem mit der Installation von Windows XP von einem USB-Stick.

Mein Asus eeePC hat leider kein CD-Rom-Laufwerk. Daher muss ich in der Virtualbox das Windows per USB installieren. Aber ich bekomme leider nicht den USB-Stick zum Booten.

Kann ich dieses überhaupt so in der Virtualbox anwenden?

Hello,

once more in english. sorry for my bad spelling.

I dont know how i can install Windows XP on my ASUS eeePC without CD-Rom-drive. i try to install Windows XP from a USB-Stick but virtualbox doesn´t boot from the stick.
also i don´t can select the usb-drive in the bootmenue from virtualbox. I see only the item floppy, cd-rom, lan.
How can i use the usb-stick as a boot-device for the installation from windows xp?

You can't. You could convert the install CD to an ISO and then install it that way, but you would need to get a friend that could do that for you.

If the USB drive contains all of the files copied off the install CD then it may be possible to make an ISO image of the folder tree using ImgBurn.

If the USB stick is bootable, you may be able to extract the boot data from it and make an image with burning software that is capable of making images. You could also try to make an ISO from the entire stick using the 'dd' command if the stick is bootable.
