Please help - Install the VM in a external hard disk

Post by losl »

My host OS is Win Xp pro SP2.

I installed VBox1.5 in my C: drive and want to setup a VM of WinXP in an external HD, say D:\. The setup procedures run smoothly and success. The .vdi and .xml files are fould in D:\. Then I starts VBox form C:\ and power on the VM I press "OK" in the "Auto capture keyboard" window. A VBox error window saying:

>>VirtualBox kernel driver not installed.
>>VBox status code: -1908 (VERR_VM_DRIVER_NOT_INSTALLED).

>>Result Code:
>>E_FAIL (0x80004005)
>>Component:

I then uninstall VBox 1.5 from my C:\ and reinstall VBox 1.52 to my external HD d:\ and setup the VM of Win XP in D:/ from the very beginning. After power on another error show up saying:

>>Unknown error creating VM (VERR_CFGM_VALUE_NOT_FOUND).
>>VBox status code: -2103 (VERR_CFGM_VALUE_NOT_FOUND).

>>Result Code:
>>E_FAIL (0x80004005)
>>Component:
>>Console
>>Interface:
>>IConsole {1dea5c4b-0753-4193-b909-22330f64ec45}

How could I solve this problem? Thank you!!
