Can I launch a VM directly?

Is there a way to launch a virtual machine directly, i.e. to make it default run without having to launch VirtualBox windows and to double-click the particular VM icon? I wonder if there is any command-line parameter or something like that to make launching a VM more straightforward?

if u were paying him, im sure he'd give you some more help...but for now...he is not required to even speak.
