Hello,
I am new to virtualization and to using VirtualBox and was wondering why a virtual machine does not or cannot make full use of the graphics capabilities on the host machine. It seems like the requests made of the graphics system could be released similar to the way the keyboard and mouse are released when moving out of the virtual machine. I prefer using Linux for most of my computing but unfortunately I still need to use Windows when I use my cad software (Solid Works) or to play a game that only runs under Windows. However I need to be able to take advantage of my expensive Nvidia graphics card and wish its capabilities were supported in a VM.
I apologize if this question has been asked a million times in the past but I have done searches and cannot find the answer, perhaps I am not asking for the right thing.
Thanks,
Robert
Video driver and VirtualBox
a quick search for "3d acceleration" would have been the right thing to do...
