Hi, really new to linux, I am trying to install redhat 5 enterprise with 3 installation cds (iso images) through vbox, but when linux asks for second cd I am unable to mount the iso image, as virtual box seems to be locked to iso1 cd, I am sure i am being a complete idiot but can anyone help?
I have also copied all 3 iso images to my local machine and loaded all 3 with vbox, but on installation I am unable to force the change to iso 2 and 3.

Managed to easily install ubuntu through vbox no worrys as just 1 iso image.

thanks

Are you using the GUI?
If so, just click the CD/DVD icon at the bottom of the running VM and you can change the ISO...

I've already created a bug report on this issue. So far, no response yet about the progress or confirmation. I did notice that if you release the ISO from the media manager, it is unlocked properly.

Ok thank you, I am aware you can release it from vmm but it will not release during installation, just gives error message, will post it in a bit.

That is what my bug report is about. Unmounting an ISO during VM operation from the VM GUI itself (either right click cd icon or use the menu), it won't be released properly.

Mounting multiple ISO images during install

I am installing a 5 disc ISO image of Redhat ES 4.4 and I had the same question as you. As the previous poster said, and I discovered to be correct, you simply click on Devices>Mount CD/DVD>CD/DVD ROM Image then select your ISO. Be sure that you have already added the ISO files in the Media Manager first.

That is what you indeed need to do, but my bug is about remounting an already mounted ISO. So if you would install Red Hat, and at the end it would ask for the first ISO again, you might have a problem. You have to save it's state, shutdown VB and wait for it to release the file properly.

See http://www.virtualbox.org/ticket/3202 for a bit more info.
