hi...i have 2 cd drives, cd/rom and dvd/rw. VB only sees the cd/rom. can i make it see the dvd drive so that i can run dvd distros?
perhaps the work around to this would be to make an iso of the dvd to my hard disk? is this the only way?
thanks
can i mount dvd/rw instead of cd/rom

Hi cybormoron,
why does it run on your machine?
I have found a bug on this issue:
http://www.virtualbox.org/ticket/646
I'm using Debian Etch as host. If I do:
$ ps ax | grep hald
I get:
3139 ? Ss 0:01 /usr/sbin/hald
3140 ? S 0:00 hald-runner
3146 ? S 0:00 hald-addon-acpi: listening on acpid socket /var/run/acpid.socket

hi ingo
i'm using mandriva 2007.1 spring free
i don't know how to read that ps info. i'm still a noob with linux. here's mine if it helps.
[cybormoron@localhost ~]$ ps ax | grep hald

i don't know why or whether it's supposed to or not. from the man page it seems that it is supposed to run. a long time ago i was playing around in the services settings in the mandriva control center, so that probably explains why it wasn't running. the prob appears to be solved for me so i'm happy unless there is a reason that hald shouldn't be running.why does it run on your machine?
