Keyboard and mouse not working (guest:XP host:Ubuntu Feisty)

Post by chrisparker2000 »

I *seem* to have correctly configured VB to boot my Windows partition under Ubuntu Feisty. It gets all the way to the login screen. I tried removing the login screen, but that didn't help. (autologin)

Thats where things go screwy. While the guest has control, it apparently ignores all kb and mouse input. The cursor doesn't move, and I can't type in a password.

OK, there is more weirdness though. As I am booting, GRUB comes up, and the keyboard WORKS there. I am able to select Windows from GRUB.

This last time I attempted to boot, VB did give me an error about not being able to connect to the mouse since it was "busy". I would think that XP wouldn't have to take over the system mouse and keyboard from a hardware standpoint.

(Note: I have not installed the VB Additions. I thought that installing that from a native boot. Would that even install?)

Thanks!
Chris
