Configure Cores for the Guest

Post by Sh0ckTheM0nk3y »

Hi,

I ve got the R9 5900X and I ve set my windows 11 system to minimal performance, which means core parking is enabled. In my case it's not necessary that all cores are always active. I saw that Windows always uses the same 2 cores (UEFI tells windows, which are the best cores). Now I want to prevent that my linux guest uses the "windows cores" too. I enabled 4 cores for the linux guest. Is it possible to determine which cpu core should be used by the guest? e.g. use core 9,10,11,12

That would be called "setting affinity", which is not a Virtualbox setting. It's done on the host OS, if it can be done. See viewtopic.php?f=6&t=108745
