Hi all,
I've tried everything but the management of virtual media does not recognize the vdmi file due to increased space.
Is there a way to size it?

What is a "VMDI"?
If you mean a VDI, follow the tutorial.
If you mean a VMDK, that is a foreign format in VirtualBox and resizing is not supported. The tutorial has the obvious suggestion (use VDI).
If you really mean a VMDI then I agree with the Virtual Media Manager - it's not a recognized format.

I have no way to convert to vmdk for management from the virtual box? Do I have to recreate the machine with another format?

VMDK is not the native format in VirtualBox, so support for it is limited.
The VMDK can be converted to VDI in media manager or the command line, but you should probably find that CloneVDI is easiest. CloneVDI can be used to resize the drive in the same step. Be sure to enable "Keep old UUID", "Increase virtual drive size" and "Compact drive". You can also enable "Increase partition size" but this is only fully functional on NTFS drives - on Linux drives it will still make room for an enlarged partition by moving other partitions aside, but will not do the final step of the actual enlarging.
