Document is empty. VirtualBox.xml

Post by Mr Ogun »

mod edit: split from viewtopic.php?f=1&t=96349

I'm starting to get frustrated. I deleted then renamed got another error and two are still popping up in the folder. When I go to machine then add and I click on the xubuntu.vbox I get the "document is empty" error message still.

We'll need more info to give you help.

What are the exact error messages you see?

I'm going to go with a wild guess and suspect that the document is empty. It happens. Rename the VirtualBox.xml-prev file to VirtualBox.xml. The xml-prev is a backup which exists for this purpose.

When I click on "machine" and then "add" to add a guest to xubuntu, I click on my xubuntu file then "xubuntu.vbox". When I click on "xubuntu.vbox" I get error code "Failed to open virtual machine located in "C:/Users/..."

I'm lost, I was making good progress in odinproject and I don't want to have to delete everything off my system to reinstall and download everything, essentially starting back at square one.
