Rename VM - [Error]

Post by AntoniHub »

When we try to change the name of the VM from the list, when we try to start it shows error on startup because the name of the PATH has not changed.
In the displayed error, it indicates the path name that has been originally created and normalises when returning to the original name.
In the previous version, when changing the VM name from the list, it also changed the name in the Vbox PATH and worked without problems.

If you rename the VM back, does it start working again?

Please show us the folder path to the working old-name VM and the failing renamed VM, in Windows's file explorer.

Yes, if I put back the original configured name the VM starts correctly.

In the PATH C:\Users\myUser\VirtualBox VMs I see the folder corresponding to the updated VM with the new name. The problem is in the .VDI file which is the one that does not change to the new configured name.

Maybe it's my aging eyes, but those screenshots are too small to be readable.

Being JPEGs doesn't help either: PNG will give good compression on screenshots without damaging the readability.
