Hi, i know that virtualbox developers cant speak about their developing work and are very restrictive with news and updates.
I think, though im not an expert in vms that the bigger feature this past two years where virtualization in a virtual machine ( to allow nested vms). So ive curiosity of the next big feature or big jump that virtualbox is working on and if possible an ETA ( for example in next weeks, next months, next years...
Thanks in advance

They don't even tell us. So we probably don't know much what they're doing. For a certainty I don't...edufissure wrote:virtualbox developers cant speak about their developing work and are very restrictive with news and updates.

Well, officially known is that VirtualBox 7.0 will support TPM 2.0 and UEFI Secure Boot (Windows 11 requirements).
When trying out the VirtualBox 6.1.97 development snapshots (7.0+ development work in progress), one might perhaps overlook a convenient new feature called Help. Did you ever miss a Help button in VirtualBox dialogs?
Other than that, the public parts of the VirtualBox source code can be viewed in the public SVN repository. But note that the repository contains features that will make it into VirtualBox 7.0, features for later VirtualBox versions and features that might never be released. Since that is only determined shortly before the VirtualBox 7.0 Beta and RC phases, no one can and will promise any feature beforehand.

Thanks, so the next release of vbox would be 7.0 ? No 6.2 ?

Actually there is nothing to say that 6.2.x will never exist, though it's unlikely. However v7 is a new main branch.
