I've heard that Qemu is used as a recompiler as a fallback feature in Virtualbox and is used for hardware emulation purposes.
VBoxREM.dll, the recompiler, disappeared in VirtualBox 6.1 or later, so I checked the release log and it says that the recompiler was removed in 6.1.
So I wonder if Qemu has been completely removed from Virtualbox or is it still there for hardware emulation purposes?
Has Qemu been completely removed from Virtualbox? Or is it still in use as a part?

VirtualBox contains many open source elements from other projects, some more modified than others. See chapter 16 of the user manual (called "Appendix A" in the online version).
