Which set up performs better?

Post by OldCastleHQ »

Hi,

I'm curious if there is a setup that performs "better."

Host = Windows & Guest = Linux

or

Host = Linux & Guest = Windows

Cheers

Either one works fine depending on successfully applying the host OS tweaks necessary. Windows has Hyper-V to deal with. Linux has kernel changes and prerequisites.

What is done in the VM should also be considered. Gaming or other intense 3D calculations aren't so hot in a VM & should be done on the host.

Also, pick the host OS genus you're most familiar with. When problems arise, knowing the host OS's methods will help take that much out of solving the problem.
