I'm not sure if this is a problem with the host, guest, or VirtualBox itself.
Host: Windows 10
Guest: Windows 8.1, 2 cores
VirtualBox: 6.1.30 r148432 (Qt5.6.2)
I run some GUI automation on the guest. It worked fine for years, until recently. Now, it frequently slows to a crawl unless I am actively moving my mouse over the VirtualBox guest window. Unfortunately, moving the mouse often interferes with the automation.
Any host/guest/VirtualBox settings that might cause this?

Re: VM guest slow unless I interact with it
Most likely you updated the host OS recently and enabled Hyper-v.
Have a read of HMR3Init: Attempting fall back to NEM (Hyper-V is active).
In future please provide a zipped VM log: it cuts down on the need for guesswork.

Thank you! Thank you! That article was exactly my problem, and following its directions to disable Hyper-V got me working at full speed again.
