The "Full screen" feature on windows 10 as a guest

Post by martin123 »

Hi,

I installed Windows 10 as a guest, but I have a problem with full screen. I installed "Guest additions". When I click "Ctrl+f" the Windows 10 screen does not fill the whole screen of the PC, there are empty spaces above and below.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled "Guest additions" several times, but the display remains the same.

On the other hand, on Windows 7 the full screen works well. It is only on Windows 10 that I have this problem.
The screen resolution on both Windows is 1366x670.

How to make the full screen on Windows 10 work properly?

Start the VM from full power off, not save-state. Run until you see the problem happen, then shut down the VM from within the VM OS if possible. If not possible, close the Virtualbox window for the VM with the Power Off option set.

Please right-click the VM in the main Virtualbox window's VM list, choose Show Log. Save the far left tab's log and the next tab over (the hardening log), zip both files, and post the zip file, using the forum's Upload Attachment tab.

The screen resolution of your display is probably 1366x768, and the window is only using 1366x670. Did you perhaps configure the latter resolution somewhere in the host or guest OS?
