How to add keyboard shortcuts with modifiers

Hi,

how can I enter a keyboard shortcut with modifier keys in File > Preferences... > Input > Virtual Machine? When I select a field in the shortcut column, hold down some modifier keys and then hit a character key, all I get is "Host+<char>".

Sorry for asking. I'm sure this is documented somewhere in the manual and probably has been discussed in this forum as well. I just couldn't find the information.

Thanks, mjf

For the Virtualbox Manager, the shortcuts are only coming out Ctrl+key or key only. Attempts to include Shift or Alt fail.

For the VM, the shortcut can only be a single key, which is then displayed as Host+key. Ctrl, Shift, Alt are ignored.

I don't see any other way to force these ignored combinations.

There are some shortcuts for the VM that use Shift+Ctrl. They are hardwired, then?

If there is no way to enter shortcuts with modifier keys, may be I should open a ticket?

Yes, they seem to be.

You could try an enhancement request on the Bugtracker.

I filed ticket #20491 Support modifiers in user-defined keyboard shortcuts.
