The Virtualbox Manager can use a proxy for its update searches, see the File menu, Preferences, Proxy.

For the VMs, see Virtualbox Networks: In Pictures

If your VM is connected through NAT or NAT Network these put the VM's network traffic into the host's network stream, which goes through the host's firewall & AV, so likely through the host's proxy settings.

If your VM is connected through Bridged, the VM sits on the LAN same as the host, as if it were a completely separate PC. The Bridged traffic does not go through the host's firewall/AV, so probably does not use the host's proxy. Then you'd set the VM's OS to use the host's proxy.

I have never used or had to use a proxy so I have not tested any of this.

I think that to get each VM using its own proxy, try using Bridged. (though note the possible problem with Bridged on Wi-Fi)

FWIW if you can tell which proxy is being used by the traffic showing in the browser, then you could experiment with Bridged or NAT.

A VM is just a PC, it does not need special solutions. Just do what you would in any other PC, you need only be aware if the network you have selected is virtual or physical.

No, please don't leave the Skype contact. You'll get spammed.

Theoretically you make the VM use a proxy by telling the VM's OS to use a proxy.

There have been plenty of things said above to help you. Which parts are you having trouble understanding?
