Re: Discuss the 6.1.18 release
I see in the fixed regression list that the sound bug on Solaris hosts is not fixed:
viewtopic.php?f=11&t=94108&p=490595#p490595
As of now, no sound works on the latest Solaris 11.4 since v5.2.18. I hoped it would be fixed in this VB release but unfortunately, not. Maybe it was not fixed because there was no bug ticket created for this sound bug on Solaris. I would very much like the sound bug to be fixed on Solaris hosts, so how do I create a bug ticket report, so this bug maybe get fixed in the next release?

Could you elaborate a bit on the nature of the bug fix?Changelog wrote:Network: Fixed Host-Only Ethernet Adapter DHCP, guest os can not get IP on host resume (bug #19620)
Background information: There have been user reports in recent years, where the VBoxNetDHCP service is missing after host resume, when used in combination with the VBoxNetNAT service, and AFAICS the same DHCP service implementation is used with the Host-Only adapter.

Go to Bugtracker and sign in there with your usual Oracle email address and password.Brutalizer wrote:how do I create a bug ticket report
Re: Discuss the 6.1.18 release
Can't download it, at least not without using a vpn. Is this being blocked in countries sanctioned by the US? Cause the error message does mention something about an embargo:
I had some problems too in sourceforge blocking downloads due to US sanctions but they reverted that.Access Denied
You don't have permission to access "http://download.virtualbox.org/errors/otnembargoed.html" on this server.

Hello Moltke
Could be very much possible that it is not possible to download it in countries sanctioned by the US. I'm from Europe precisely Germany and it worked well for me. Do you maybe have a VPN you can use?

Re: Discuss the 6.1.18 release
This release still has the old bugs:
- The mouse pointer is not exactly behaving the same like on a system without VirtualBox.
- A paused Guest VM is displayed in a strange way.
I have attached an example: while working in the VM I have Firefox (or any other software) in full size of the VM window. After I press Host + P the VM window looks like my screenshot:
I use Windows 10 as host system and Arch Linux as Guest system.

Re: Discuss the 6.1.18 release
When I upgraded to 6.1.18 in my Ubuntu 16.04 host and then upgraded guest additions in my virtual machines, the Arch machines with zfs file system will not boot on sign in. Kernel panic. I go back to GA's 6.1.16 and they boot up fine.
I upgraded to 6.1.19 and same problem.

Re: Discuss the 6.1.18 release
I had heard that there was a new version of VirtualBox released, but I didn't go looking for it, and my 6.1.16 Windows version never mentioned it when I launched it. I had also gone to the File menu and 'Checked for Updates' a few times, with it always saying it was up to date, so I just assumed that it would let me know when it was available. Tonight I actually came here, to the VirtualBox website, and noticed that there is a new version available to download.
Any reason that the app itself didn't see a new version?
I downloaded and installed the new version, but it just seems weird that the app never seemed to know that its replacement was available.

I vaguely remember that the new version notification is not pushed out for installed Virtualbox to pick up on right away.Christian2001 wrote:Any reason that the app itself didn't see a new version?

Re: Discuss the 6.1.18 release
Just launched 6.1.16 on my MacBook, and when I check for updates it still tells me that it's up-to-date. It seems to me that 3+ weeks is more then long enough to wait before pushing out a notification.scottgus1 wrote:I vaguely remember that the new version notification is not pushed out for installed Virtualbox to pick up on right away.Christian2001 wrote:Any reason that the app itself didn't see a new version?
