Setting Up Shared Folder

Post by Sammy Blinkin »

I have a Shared folder on my system. My G drive is an external solid state drive and that is where the folder "Shared" resides. This is the settings I have for the shared folder:

On the host machine, the only folder that comes up is VIRTUALBOX which suggests to me that a connection from the virtual machine to virtualbox host is being made but there is something amiss about the way that I have declared the shared folder in virtualbox.

When I open this folder, it shows a folder entitled "print$" only. And when I click to open this folder, it asks for a password but when I give it my username and password, nothing happens.

Please help.

Based on the screenshots, this refers to the Guest machine. The physical PC is the host, which appears to be Windows. The VM appears to be Linux.

That said, Ubuntu doesn't use drive letters for the drives, so the Automount to a drive letter won't work.

See section 4.3 in the Virtualbox manual.
