[Solved] The Guest OS refuses to get synchronized with the Host OS

Post by WeirdSystem »

I have a funny problem ! My Guest OS refuses to get synchronized with the Host OS ! Not only the Guests's clock is different than the Host's, but even if I try to manually set it , after about 5 seconds it changes back !
For example , if the time on Host is : 11:55 PM
on the Guest is 01:55 PM
It seems to be 10 hours earlier .
Now , if I try to manually set the Guest's clock to 11:55 , after a few seconds it will automatically get back to 01:55 !
Let me specify these :
Host : Win7 SP1 64-bits Ultimate
Guest : WinXP SP3 32-bits Professional
The Guest Additions have been installed (and exactly as it's written in the manual : through the Safe Mode) .
I took care to upload a log file .

Have you made sure that the region settings on the guest OS are the same as the host OS?
For example the host could be on European time and the guest could be on USA time.
