I disabled 3d and 2d acceleration and it works now, .... that is to say it works on my main monitor, on my external monitor I still see the windows desktop. I am sure that I am running seamless mode and not full screen. I have used the keyboard shortcut and I have run it from the menu. I have run full screen mode to compare. I agree that it the background of the VM OS should not be visible, and that is my problem. I don't know why it is, but it is.

I just downloaded the most recent update. Now I have virtualbox set up to run my two monitors with windows 7. The latest update has "broken" seamless mode though. Seamless mode used to just put the start menu bar on the bottom of my screen. Now it basically runs full screen mode, I see my ...
