I was using 2.1.2 before, it had the same issues. The issue is only when i'm using the newer copy. I can try an older one but i have my doubts it'll work.

Ok I removed GA, it made it unusable. So i re-installed it again, but the latest version. (2.1.4r42893) and it made no difference, still 90% idle.

shared folders are not in use. I'll try removing GA.

I tried on another VM image that i built on my XP host, it ran at under 10% cpu usage on the laptop (linux host). I'm at a loss for ideas now.
