yeah appearantly what everyone said is correct and that it is a limitation in Windows 2000 terminal server and cannot be altered.

isn't 8 bit 16 color though? I can't even change it from 16 colors up to 256. I think 256 would be enough actually but I can't seem to get it to let me go up to 256.

I can connect to other remote desktop clients in 24 and 32 bit color fine so I know it's not the client I'm using to connect with, it's the end system. everytime I try to build a new VirtualBox on 2.1.0 it panics my server and I literally have to power off the hardware and repower it. No boxes will successfully build. As soon as I try to install any new Virtalbox and it starts the install of that box it panics the hardware! I had to go back to 2.0....
