Re: Cannot attach listed USB device

I could not even see the list under Devices > USB. In any rate, I found this entry that worked for me:

sudo gpasswd -a $USER vboxusers ed

as my login name is ed

hope this helps.

Re: Optical Disk Not Mounted

Thank you. I have tried to mount drives through the Device menu but I get a message that an existing drive cannot be unmounted. I occasionally get a menu that suggests I mount a virtual drive and offers a explorer window but I have no idea what is wanted here. ??

Re: Optical Disk Not Mounted

I see no log file when right clicking the icon in Windows. Is this what you meant me to do?

Optical Disk Not Mounted

In VirtualBox 5 my Vista Virtual Machine has no problem finding the optical disks. But in Ubuntu 15.10 or Ubuntu Mint 23 no OD can be mounted (as far as my ability takes me which is beginner). A "Disk" utility observes that the optical drives are there but I cannot use them. Ideas please?

Screen resolution (not screen size) Windows 8.11

I am using VirtualBox 5.0.14 (with the Extension pack) on Linux Elementary hosting Windows 8.1. I had Windows running at 1920 x 1080 just after install and loading Guest additions. This looked very good. I updated 8.1 and reinstalled Guest additions but cannot get Windows to budge past 1280 x 960. M...
