Re: Switching Workspaces (Ubuntu) Causes VM to abort

I'm attaching a log file for a crash I just experienced.

Let me know if this helps.

Re: Switching Workspaces (Ubuntu) Causes VM to abort

@mpack The VM (guest) window just vanishes, while the VM manager window stays open. VM manager shows the crashed guest VM as being 'aborted'. When I restart it, I get the Windows "how do you want to start Windows" message, as if it had gone through a hard crash. Yes - I will try to re-post...

Switching Workspaces (Ubuntu) Causes VM to abort

All, I've noticed in the last few versions of Virtualbox for Linux (Ubuntu) hosts that switching workspaces will cause the VM (windows guest) to crash aka abort. Has anyone else experienced or reported this? Versions: Ubuntu: 12.04, 64 Bit, 8gb RAM Virtualbox: 4.3.6 (guest additions installed and up...

Keyboard issues with multiple guest OS's

All, I'm having issues using keyboards with various guest OS's, be it Windows, Ubuntu 12.04, Ubuntu 13.04, etc., the keyboard is constantly 'breaking'. What I mean is that the keyboard stops working, and requires hitting ESC twice, then the keyboard is working again. It has become so prevalent, that...

Re: Enabling keyboard in VM locks Ubuntu host

I think you're referring to: Make sure that non of your VM USB filters can match the host keyboard. It's possible however that you'll have problems if your guest was installed to expect an actual USB keyboard instead of the virtual PS/2 keyboard that VMs normally use. We'll see how adaptable your gu...

Re: Enabling keyboard in VM locks Ubuntu host

All, Here is the most recent log file for my machine. Some keyboard errors I'm getting in the VM: - keyboard entry doesn't happen until I hit escape twice, then the keyboard is recognized and I can start typing (actually this is a problem in an Ubuntu VM as well...) - the Window button (between CTRL...

Enabling keyboard in VM locks Ubuntu host

All, I usually enable my USB keyboard in my Win 7 VM, which disables it from my Ubuntu host. Today, however, I left my computer alone long enough that the Ubuntu host locked up (as it usually does after 15min). So...with the keyboard locked by the Win 7 VM, I couldn't type in my password to unlock m...

Re: Joining a Windows Domain from inside a Win 7 Guest VM?

BillG et al,

I think what I'm after lies in this solution:

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/wind ... o-a-domain

Simple, but I'm going to have to track down the correct parameters with my IT department!

Thanks for your help!

Re: Joining a Windows Domain from inside a Win 7 Guest VM?

Thanks, BillG... That seems to be working, but what I'm trying to do is be logged in as my domain user...rather than (I believe) a workgroup user I created when I set up the OS on the VM... That way, when I'm logged in as domain\user I'll be able to use 'windows authentication'... Again, I hope I'm ...

Joining a Windows Domain from inside a Win 7 Guest VM?

All, I'm using a Windows 7 VM from an Ubuntu Host... I'd like to be able to connect to SQL Server instances using 'windows authentication' but I don't think I've configured the VM correctly... I'm also not sure if I'm describing the problem correctly...SQL Server Management studio doesn't give the o...
