Re: USB Problem: Failed to attach the USB device (E_INVALIDARG)
Good for you, unfortunately this doesn't help me since I'm cursed with ASMedia USB controller. @socratis from all the people I have spoken with that can't get USB devices to work - they are eater using AMD processor and don't know about USB controller or using an ASMedia one like me ... P.S. I'm onl...

Re: USB Problem: Failed to attach the USB device (E_INVALIDARG)
Have you successfully connected this (or another) usb device previously? This is the first time I'm hearing about this problem on an Intel based system with Intel USB controller. Have you tried connecting the USB device on another USB port (USB2-black or USB3-blue)? If this is you're first attempt t...

Re: USB Problem: Failed to attach the USB device (E_INVALIDARG)
@thomas3463 can you check what is you're USB chip maker? It seems that VirtualBox is currently not working with ASMedia based USB controllers or AMD based systems, can you confirm if yours is one of them? P.S. If you don't know can you tell us what is you're motherboard make and model? (You can use...

Re: Anyone else updated to v5.1 and finding Win10 guest aborts?
I was having the same issues trying to install a Windows 7 64 bits guest on a Mac OS 10.10.5 host using an upgraded VirtualBox 5.0.x to 5.1.2 My solution was selecting: Chipset: ICH9 HiDPI Support: [Checked] Use Unscaled HiDPI Output I don't know which one made the trick but it worked. I hope it hel...

What are benefits of guest additions on gui-less server instalation
I was wondering over two things:
1. What are benefits of installing GA in server without x.org?
2. Does GA affects resolution or other aspects when using x.org through xfvb?

Re: VB5 - Choppy audio
I hope you have noticed that there are a number of audio fixes mentioned in the 5.0.4 changelog. thanks for mentioning Installed 5.0.4 and updated guest additions, rebooted and the problem persists. Tried Alsa / PulseAudio + Intel HD audio. But it's ok, I guess eventually it will be fixed by a vbox...

Re: VB5 - Choppy audio
I've tried every combination of host audio driver and audio controller but the problem persists. The realtek drivers doesn't work on Windows 8.1 (for AC97) so if anybody got a working version please leave a link. What did help a little was running VBox with env PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC=60 The AC97 seesm ...

Resize Window, fullscreen and Memory Error, failed import
Hi All, I installed the latest version of virtualbox 5.0.2_r102096 with extension pack, over the previous 5.0.0_r101573 and I get the same behaviour and errors I've since versions 4.16 and later. I get two main issues: vm (no matter the guest) starts oddly: the window is minimized, it crash in fulls...

Re: Infecting a guest machine with a virus..
What would the infected machine be able to do if you enable network or share an EMPTY folder?
Nothing really critical, right? Like accessing data outside of that scope. Of course it could be used as a botnet or things like that, but that's it.
