Hi all,
Now, I am working with arch linux as host, and I can confirm that USB detection is working perfectly in linux so I think there is a bug in Virtualbox on Windows 8 hosts. I am using version 4.2.12 in linux.

In your log, there is simply no indication whatsover that the device has been detected by Virtualbox, or no error attempting to do so... Could you try the following steps : 1.
