Re: USB Passthrough
I hope this has not already been discussed. I don't know for sure because I did a search on USB and it came up with 0 results even though there was a USB topic about USB flash drives not working. That is not what I am asking about, but since USB didn't show any results (bug on the forum???) I am go...

Re: Guest OS not accessing USB drives; shuts down improperly
I wonder if it is because of the USB 3.0 on the MacBook Pro Retina that VirtualBox doesn't support. I installed the Windows version of VirtualBox on Windows 8 through Boot Camp and VirtualBox does not recognize the USB flash drive either. Of course, my Macbook Pro Retina can support USB 2.0, but I ...

Re: Guest OS not accessing USB drives; shuts down improperly
Any operation after quit of VM results in Failed to open session for VM.. (this was after restart attempt. Same thing after power off):
I can quit VBox manager and restart it and get back to seeing USB devices.

Re: Guest OS not accessing USB drives; shuts down improperly
Pardon the lack of repeating the initial Post. I just noticed your reply, and I have also looked at the log files. So, I had removed all installs of Virtual Box. Reinstalled VirtualBox 4.2.4 r81684 Have Oracle extensions (for 4.2.4 81684) loaded. Running on Macbook Pro 15, Late 2011 model, 16 Gig RA...

Re: Guest OS not accessing USB drives; shuts down improperly
Unfortunately I have the same issue. OS X 10.8.2, VBOX 4.2.4 r81684 oracle extensions loaded in. VM is ubuntu 12.04 desktop. I have the filter set, and am unable to see a USB SDHC card reader... Also the built in SDHC card reader is not even an option..... After getting the famed "Failed to att...
