Re: Enable Mouse-Capture?

Just an update, this still doesn't work with Ubuntu 16.04 running whatever gnome-shell version that's on there that's current today. :(

Re: Enable Mouse-Capture?

Hi, did you ever find a fix or work-around for this? As far as I can tell this is still a problem to be fixed, but not exactly sure by whom (most likely a combination of Unity and Virtualbox). Anyway, my workaround was to not go full-screen anymore, and to use a faster window manager (ended up with...

Re: Enable Mouse-Capture?

btw, the simplest workaround for you is to keep mouse integration enabled and 3D but instead of using full screen, just maximize the guest window. you won't lose much screen area and you don't have to worry about hot corners. Excellent, that actually isn't half bad! Thanks! I'll post here when I he...

yes, that's what I mean. It works with xfce, lxde, mate, kde, actually anything that doesn't use openGL compositing as far as I know.
Which probably means that the newest gnome will also not work :(

Re: Enable Mouse-Capture?

well at least you know you don't have to download them. Personally, I dislike Unity for many reasons and much prefer other DEs but that's me. I used to hate Unity, but its getting better and better, and the Dash has gotten to the point now that I would be using Unity solely because of the Dash! Das...

Re: Enable Mouse-Capture?

well as I said before, apparently it doesn't work the way you would like it to. not everything will. This is something that should work though, and will become increasingly important as Unity becomes more popular. It certainly seems like its a problem with Unity, because in the bug report in the un...

Re: Enable Mouse-Capture?

I figured out what you were talking about. I wasn't trying in Ubuntu. The reason the mouse disappears has to do with how Unity with 3D works. If you were running any other 'buntu version with 3D enabled and mouse integration disabled, it wouldn't happen. If you haven't noticed you also can't take a...

Re: Enable Mouse-Capture?

when you disable mouse integration, the cursor remains either the host cursor OR the guest cursor. mouse integration transitions smoothly between the two. I still have no idea why you want mouse integration disabled. It's not a bug. It just doesn't work the way you would like it to apparently. No, ...

Re: Enable Mouse-Capture?

if you have mouse integration disabled, the cursor won't appear until you click inside the guest window. it has always worked that way. if you have mouse integration enabled, you see the cursor as you move inside the guest window. that's the whole point. How is that the whole point ? Honestl...

Re: Enable Mouse-Capture?

No, I mean when I'm inside the guest OS, the cursor is fully invisible. i.e. it can't be seen at all. Here's a screenshot of me inside the guest OS with the settings I've described above. I've made a selection square to show you roughly where the mouse is. The selection area appears, but the cursor ...

Re: Enable Mouse-Capture?

Here's a screenshot of my setup. As soon as I let my mouse get captured when I have those settings, the mouse cursor disappears. it looks like you are trying to change the settings while your guest is open? and why is your VM blank? No, I'm not trying to change those settings, I'm just trying to sh...

Re: Enable Mouse-Capture?

The reason for disabling mouse-integration is that among other things it interferes with Mac's Hot Corners and hot corners of the guest OS.
It also doesn't play nice a hidden dock on Mac and in the guest OS (assuming the guest OS has a dock).

Can you try with the mouse-integration disabled? That's the whole point.
