I seem to have a screwed up config file for a virtual windows XP. Every time I go to change a setting via the gui it spits this error at me. I understand the above about 30%. So your saying that normal passthrough will not work on a usb device requiring more data. Is there any way to circumvent this? I need a peice of windows software that won't work under wine and need the web cam, or if possible my anologue mic, for it to work properly.

Installing the binary virtualbox did not help.

The extention pack is already installed and usb2 is enabled on the guest. I should note that gentoo linux is a distrobution that compiles EVERYTHING from source code. I will check back after trying out a binary distrobution of virtualbox.
