After ejecting my USB thumb drive, I was able to select it from WinXP guest OS via bottom right usb icon. However, after a while, my drive re-appear on my Max OS desktop. And now, the list of usb devices from within WinXP is "<no devices available>".
What have I missed?

WinXP Guest OS reports limited or no connectivity
Hi,
As soon as I switch the network adapter of my WinXP virtualbox from NAT to Bridged, WinXP reports "Limited or no connectivity" LAN status. What am I missing?
Thank you for any help.

Re: Windows XP Guest VM is not reachable via ping
Alright, but the point is my original VM does not need any firewall settings to be done. Wonder what else is different?

Re: Windows XP Guest VM is not reachable via ping
What is interesting is that when I run my original VM again, it responds to ping requests and guess what it has firewall set to ON.
Now, that is why I did not think about switching the firewall to off in the cloned VM.

Re: Windows XP Guest VM is not reachable via ping
Hmm... yes it is caused by the guest windows firewall.
I actually cloned this vm from another vm which allows ping. I had thought all the settings would be the same as the original vm I clone from. Thanks for the reminder.

Windows XP Guest VM is not reachable via ping
Hi,
I have configured a Windows XP Guest vm to use bridged networking. IPCONFIG shows the same Subnet Mask and Default Gateway as what my Windows XP Host shows. I can ping my HOST IP from within the Guest vm but I am unable to ping my Guest VM IP.
What else am I missing?
Thank you.
