Re: Guest Additions on OpenSUSE 42.1 Not Working Correctly

I'm typing this in as I follow the steps that loukingjr outlined. I uninstalled the three virtualbox-guest-xx packages that were installed. Then, went back into the Software utility and marked the three files as Taboo. Restarted the VM to make sure the files were completely unloaded and removed. Log...

Re: Guest Additions on OpenSUSE 42.1 Not Working Correctly

Currently, I'm using the pre-installed guest additions. I would like to try removing the pre-installed version and try the downloaded version but OpenSuSE wants to reinstall the pre-installed version automatically. Also, the version numbers are the same so it isn't logical that there would be a diff...

Guest Additions on OpenSUSE 42.1 Not Working Correctly

I realize OpenSuSE 42.1 is not officially supported at this time but I am experiencing some issues that are very similar to issues I was experiencing with OpenSuSE 13.2. The problem in 42.1 is that I can resize the desktop area with click and drag but the desktop size goes back to 640X480 after a re...

Re: VBox Kernel Driver will not load with one user account.

I posted on 12/1 and after a couple days I had to rebuild the machine for other reasons. Pretty sure I tried adding the user to the vboxusers group but users that don't have any issues are not in that group.

VBox Kernel Driver will not load with one user account.

I have VirtualBox 5.0.10 installed on an OpenSUSE 13.2 host. On an OpenSUSE 13.2 guest I've installed the guest additions and everything works as long as I log in using the root user or the local admin user I created when installing OpenSUSE. The guest is joined to a Windows domain using SAMBA 4. Wh...

Re: windows xp guest crashed under vbox 3.1.4

Using advice from a different post on a different issue I disabled the DHCP server for the NAT network device in the Preferences of VirtualBox 3.1.6. For a Windows XP guest on Ubuntu 9.10 64 bit that fixed the problem. I also have a Windows Server 2008 Standard guest on a different host but with Ubu...
