Re: Windows "hot key" equivalent on Mac keyboard

Aha! Makes sense. And, I was wrong in my original post - the non-host command key does work as the Winkey - it's just a bit slow and I was tired and impatient. I have 5 online courses to set up, but when that's done and I have time, I'll peruse the manual for info on 3D. Thank you for the information.

Windows "hot key" equivalent on Mac keyboard

I have a Mac host with a new Windows 7 guest. I am running Windows 7 because I am teaching the Windows 7 OS this semester. Looks like I need to learn it first. So, here's my nagging little problem slowing me down - the textbook describes using Aero Flip 3D and directs the reader to hold the W...

Re: Guest no longer sizing correctly

I've toggled the scaling mode, but at best it's a work-around for being able to view the entire desktop at one time. It doesn't fix the problem of opened windows not fitting. I'm going to just uninstall XP and start over. Does anyone have any advice on how to do that safely and correctly? Thank you ...

Guest no longer sizing correctly

I have been running Windows XP on VB, on Mac OSX 10.6.7, for over a year and have just recently started having trouble with it. I don't know how to describe this clearly, but here's my best shot: the windows no longer correctly size themselves. The Windows main screen is overly large and does not sh...

Re: How to reinstall Windows

I've been away for a couple of days and didn't see the message about pcloginnow until just now. I'm going to find the program in case I need it in the future. Here's what I've done: 1. Created a new VM, mounted the old vdi; 2. Copied the reported missing files from the new VM to the old, but that di...

Re: How to reinstall Windows

I hate to admit it, but this is wearing me down, and it's mostly my own fault. I tried to repair the installation, but can't remember my Administrator password, evidently, so I can't proceed with the repair. Then I installed a second XP VM, but I can't figure out how to mount the original one, and I...

Re: How to reinstall Windows

After I sent my last reply, I got a few minutes to think and realized exactly what you've said. I haven't had a chance yet to boot up from the disk, but I did go to the Library folder and made a copy of the VDI file. I do know which files are the problem, but I haven't had a chance to think about wh...

Re: How to reinstall Windows

Thank you for your suggestions. I have been trying to find a way to repair the installation. I have looked through the manual and haven't found anything about it. How do I back up the VDI? Do I use the clone command? I have my original XP installation disk. If I create a new VM, I should be able to ...

How to reinstall Windows

First, I apologize if this subject has been covered elsewhere, and if it has, just please point me to its location. I have searched to the best of my ability, but there are thousands of posts and I am in a panic to retrieve my data before a deadline. I have been successfully running a Windows XP Pro...
