Thanks! I figured it was something like this, but I thought I would ask before embarking on trial and error. The odds that someone had done, or at least thought about doing this were pretty good.

[Solved] Copy VM from one machine to another?
I am brand new to Virtual Box and I am wondering if I could copy an Ubuntu VM I created at work for example to my home PC using the same version of Virtual Box (which happens to be 2.2). I created an Ubuntu Ruby on Rails dev VM and didn't want to go through all that again at home if I don't have to....
