Aahhh! Obviously. That's not at all misleading, is it??! I think that I did that as well, during one of my many repeated initial installs, but I can't say for sure. It did show activity but it shouldn't have because I had (tried to) un-mounted it and the vb manager showed no attached image.

That's right, I was using a CD image during the initial install phase, then I unmounted it on the vm window menu, then I rebooted. Instead of booting from the system vdisk, it rebooted from the iso image, which should not have been possible.

I am installing sol10u5 in a vm. After booting from the iso image and running the install, I need to un-mount the CD and re-boot. Without a CD image attached, the vm should boot from the vm vdisk.
