Right, I understand that. I also now understand Bridged cannot bind to aliases of network devices. Simply port forwarding using the IP of the hardware device (not one of the aliases) worked fine. It would be interesting if at some point it would be possible to use Bridged with network interfaces, as...

I am aware that at this time PPTP on the guest will not work with the Vbox NAT configuration. However, since I can easily connect to PPTP on the mac, is there a way to bridge to the VPN network in the guest? Great! Now, what if my host machine is OS X? I have a Windows guest instance I need to use PPTP on. Alternately I could have the host connect to the PPTP if I can get to it with the guest somehow. Thoughts?
