I am having a weird problem:
I am running Virtualbox on Windows, having a Linux guest OS. When I select view fullscreen mode, the Linux OS jumps back to login screen, and all my software and what I was working on disappears. I have no clue if this is a "feature" in Linux Mint, or if Virtualbox is doing something. This happens every single time i enter fullscreen mode, AND when I exit that mode.
This happens both when I use the shortkeys or use the menu selection for fullscreen mode.
It is just as if I would jump back to a snapshot of when the OS was in login screen, and all of open software is removed from memory, but files that had been changed are up to date.
I just upgraded Virtualbox from version 6.something to 7.0.10, and I am having the same problem.
Does anyone have a clue what is happening?

Re: Linux Mint jumps back to login screen
Please try making a new VM, without using the unattended install feature. See if the same thing happens there.
FWIW, aside from unattended install, Virtualbox does not involve itself in the usernames and passwords of the VM OS.
