Seamless mode
I just downloaded the most recent update. Now I have virtualbox set up to run my two monitors with windows 7. The latest update has "broken" seamless mode though. Seamless mode used to just put the start menu bar on the bottom of my screen. Now it basically runs full screen mode, I see my windows desktop and wallpaper and I can't see my mac desktop anymore. How can I hide the desktop so it really is seamless and not just full screen?

Re: Seamless mode
Do you even have a program running in the Guest? If not, then that can cause the full screen look.

Re: Seamless mode
I do have programs running on both my virtual machine and my host machine.

Re: Seamless mode
Then are you sure you selected Seamless mode from the menu or used the right keyboard shortcut (Host+L)? When a program is visible on the Guest, the background of the VM OS should not be visible.

Re: Seamless mode
I am sure that I am running seamless mode and not full screen. I have used the keyboard shortcut and I have run it from the menu. I have run full screen mode to compare. I agree that it the background of the VM OS should not be visible, and that is my problem. I don't know why it is, but it is.

Re: Seamless mode
Please post the VM settings. We might see something from that which you can try.

Re: Seamless mode
On OS X, you need to disable 3D acceleration in order for Seamless mode to work. I run Seamless on my external monitor, and can freely move Mac app windows to either monitor. I had Seamless running both monitors as a single system, but found too many glitches. So now I have the OS X dock on my MacBook Pro screen, and the Windows task bar on the external monitor. However, the Mac desktop background is on both.

Re: Seamless mode
I disabled 3d and 2d acceleration and it works now, .... that is to say it works on my main monitor, on my external monitor I still see the windows desktop. It's more usable now, I just think I should be able to get it to work for both monitors.
It used to let me choose which screen would have the windows task bar by whatever screen had the main window on it when I switched to seamless mode, now it always puts it on my main screen.
What VM settings would I post? this?
