I currently use Vbox 4.0.0. on a Ubuntu 10.04 (Lucid) AMD64 (64bit) host. I have windows 7 guest system.
I want to use the windows7 guest system to make use of my Epson 3170 photo scanner, which is not supported by SANE. I spend many days to make it work under SANE, and I draw the conclusion that it is not possible.
I managed to install Virtualbox 4 and the windows 7 64 bit guest system. I am able to select the USB device in virtualbox (the're not grayed out), windows 7 recognizes the USB device, and tries to install the driver. However, the install is not successful. Instead, the following error is reported: "The device cannot start (code 10)".
When I try to install a WLAN USB Device I get the same error. Therefore I guess the problem is caused by the host, and not by the guest system.
I already added my username to the Vboxusers usergroup.
Can somebody help?
