Snapshot Crash After Appliance Import

Post by marlonj »

Hello There

This is a strange behavior :
After create a Snapshot from an Imported Appliance the virtual machine crash.

Steps :
- I create two virtual machines using VirtualBox 4.0 r69151, Oracle extension installed, Host Windows 7 64 bits, Intel Q8400 VT Enable
- One with Windows 7 Enterprise 32bits and other with Ubuntu Desktop 10.10 32 bits
- I export both machines with the OVA format
- I import both ova files creating two new machines
- Both machines boot well, not issues
- I create a snapshot for each machine
- I try to start the machines again but VirtualBox crash

I tested this reinstalling the VirtualBox,
with guests Windows 7 and Ubuntu 10.10
and always have the same result.

Any idea or suggestion ?

thanks
marlonj

I have a similar problem.
I exported an Ubuntu 10.10 machine which was set up just as I wanted it, then imported it (As I wanted a disk image up to and including the latest snapshot of my original VM). It was all working well and I set up the networking and saved a snapshot. Now every time I try to load it I get a "Oracle VM VirtualBox Manager has stopped working" box.

(I did attempt to rename the rather unfriendly default name, when it crashed I changed the name back, in case this upset something)

My host is windows 7, the log file is attached.

Same situation with me.
I was run under the 4.0.0 when i notice this crash.
After update to 4.0.2, the problem was solved.

I upgraded to 4.0.2 and it appeared to fix the problem, but when I next took a snapshot I got a different problem (A 'BLKCACHE_IOERR' error when there is >150GBytes left on the disk), see http://forums.virtualbox.org/viewtopic. ... 56#p173056

I think these problems are related, my post there has more details.
