Windows Server 2008 64BIt with hyper-V

Post by avipenina »

Hi,
i install VB on my Windows XP Pro Sp2 32BIt.
I've create a new VB with Windows Server 2008 64BIT install on it,when i try to install the Hyper-V feature it says that i don't have the right hardware even if i check the Enable VT-x option in the guest options.(my bios is setup for VT).
do i need to configure anything else to allow the guest operation to access the VT through the Windows XP Pro host?.

You can't really expect hardware virtualization to be available inside a VM. In fact, you can't dual virtualize in the first place. I know VMWare does it, but they use some ugly methods.

Sorry, but if you want to use Windows Server 2008 and Hyper-V, install it natively.
