Getting mouse Prev/Next buttons to work inside guest

I have found that, even with the mouse and keyboard captured, Mandriva 2008.0 doesn't detect me pressing the Prev/Next buttons on my mouse. Windows (XP PRo SP2) is configured to map those to Alt-? and Alt-?. Konquerer in Mandriva is set to map those keystrokes to its Prev/Next commands. So why don't those buttons work?
